EnCore® Combined Materials / Mechanically-Bonded Fiber
MBG-C is a high performance gasket material combining graphite facings on a 0.2mm (0.008”) tang perforated tin-plated steel core. It is ideally suited for internal combustion engine applications such as head gaskets and exhaust flange gaskets. MBG is compressible and resilient, yet offers excellent bolt torque retention, excellent chemical resistance, and is heat resistant for exhaust gas sealing applications up to 550°C (1000°F) or higher when shielded. The typical values below were established using an overall thickness of 1.2mm (0.047”).
